Although the Minister of Supply had stated that the delivery of goods to Greymouth by sea was being expedited, there was no apparent change in the shipping facilities, sak. Mr R. Anderson, president of the Greymouth Chamber of Commerce, yesterday morning. “Colliers unload at Auckland and Wellington, but do not wait to clean out their holds tq carry general cargo back to Greymouth, he said. •"This is reasonable, as coal is urgently required, but it means that for weeks on end stores for the West Coast are held up in the North Island. We feel that arrangements should be made for • regular vessel carrying genera! cargo Ei ply between Greymouth and the orth Island.” The Greymouth Chamtr of Commerce would continue to *i*ew for an improvement in the situation, concluded Mr Anderson.
