AIR COMMODORE FRANK WHITTLE, inventor and designer of the first British gas-turbine jet propulsion unit to be used successfully in an aircraft, who has resigned from Power Jets, Ltd., in which he was a director and chief technical adviser, because he “disagreed with the policy required of and imposed on the company.” Air Commodore Whittle said he had no dispute with the company.—London, Feb. 11.
