EIGHTH ROUND ENDED Following are the results of the eighth round of the Suburban Cricket Association competitions, played on Saturday:— SENIOR GRADE Harewood 232 (Miller 89, Cobden 34, A. Shipley 32) beat Working Men’s Club 215 by 17 -runs. For W.M.C. Mahony took five for 72, and Smith four for 59. Marathon 175 for nine wickets declared and 168 for four wickets declared (C. Kirk 53. L. Goodger 28. W. Mackreli 38. not out) beat New Brighton 80 and 62 by 201 runs. For Marathon, Kirk took five for 10 and Moir five for 31. Shirley 175 and 97 for six wickets (Wentworth 34, not out. Garner 20) beat St. Albans 172 (Greenwood 53. Hom 27. not out) by three runs. For Shirley, Gottermeyer took six for 43; and for St. Albans Herne took two for 4. Beckenham 250 (Colombus 63, Weatherhedd 46, McCree 29, Evans 28, Griffiths 23) beat Merivale 96 and 116 (Jordan 33, Lavery 21, not out) by an innings and 38 runs. For Beckenham Weatherhead took five for 28 and Griffiths four for 24; and for Merivale Hardie took three for 62. Spreydon 192 and 128 for four wickets declared (Oliver 62, not out, Callanan 27) beat Railway 129 and 71 (Angus 23) by 120 runs. For Spreydon Scoon took six for 19. Waltham 271 (Gough 117, Biggs 48) beat Matchless 204 and 136 for two wickets (Spicer 65, not out, Grenfell 39) by 67 runs on the first innings. For Matchless Smythe took two for 6 and Norton two for 45. SENIOR B GRADE Riccarton 176 and 55 for one wicket (Eric Timms, 30 not out, Wooton 22. not out) beat Working Men’s Club 143 and 66 by nine wickets. For Riccarton Beer-e took five for 19. Watersiders 232 and 202 (Hannigan 50, Walton 30, Le Grose 28, Stapley 29) beat Beckenham 15 (Hay 68) by 30 runs on the first innings. Marathon 96 and 150 for seven wickets declared beat Sunnyside 76 and 150 by 20 runs. JUNIOR A GRADE Waltham 142 for eight wickets declared and 196 for four wickets (Warr 74, not out Reid 48 Clarke 43) beat Shirley 77 and 306 for seven wickets declared (Fraser 158, not out, Agassiz 55) by 65 runs on the first innings. For Waltham Ellis took three for 39. Roslyn beat Tramways by default. Sumner 212 for two wickets declared beat New Brighton 53 and 52 by an innings and 107 runs.

JUNIOR B GRADE Waltham 215 and 111 for two wickets (Smitheram 58, not out, Perry 32, not out) beat Harewood 139 and 170 (Trembath 57, Cains 32, Cox 26) by eight wickets. For Waithem, Fergus took three for 13 and four for 42. Northcote 105 and 158 for nine wickets (Welsh 64, Woods 36, Anning 28) beht Templeton 127 and 123 (Meyers 36, Kyle 29) by one wicket. » For Northcote Anning took three for 52 and Walter six for 56; and for Templeton Feary took six for 17. s Heathcote 98 (Mcllroy 45. hot out) and 96 (Lang 29) beat Spreydon 84 (Miller 41 not out) and 104 (Goodwin 38) by six runs. For Heathcote Young todk six for 40 and Petheram five for 22, and for Spreydon Miller took four for 36 and five for 22, and Tolchard five for 30. THIRD A GRADE Lane, Walker, Rudkin 212 (Cusack 103, not out, Weir 36, Calvert 34) beat Enterprise 200 (Davidson 54, Keenan 44, Jennett 30, not out) by 12 runs. For L.W.R. Weir took three for 33, and for Enterprise Keenan took three for 43. Beckenham 78 and 52 for one wicket beat Matchless 37 and 92 (Banks 37) by nine wickets. For Beckenham Molloy took seven for 11; and for Matchless Jones took four for 25 and Marshall four for 42. Perrys 135 (Ward 24) beat Barnet Glass 42 by 93 runs. For Perrys, Ward took three for 8 and Clark five for 15; and for Barnet Glass Washington took four for 39. THIRD G BRADE Waltham 230 (Sherrett 73, C. Dacre 71) beat Beckenham 178 (Roberts 54, Courtier 45) by 52 runs. For Waltham Foley took four for 11, and for Beckenham Scapens took three for 55 and Roberts three for 66. Tramways 70 (Bowden 30) and 112 (Bowden 54) beat Northcote 45 and 19 for one wicket by 25 runs on the first innings. For Tramways, Simpson took six for 5; and for Northcote O’Connor took six for 21 and five for 23. THIRD C GRADE St. Albans 173 Stapleton 38, Bestman 35, Lambie 33) beat Shirley 31 by 142 runs. For St. Albans Taylor took six lor 14 and Moorhead three for 1; and for Shirley Dyer took four for 33. Greens 138 (Polsen 57) beat Heathcote 58 and 114 (McGilp 35) by 80 runs on the first innings. For Greens Foster took seven for 26 and Polsen three for 19. JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVE TEAM The following team has been selected from the junior grade to play North Canterbury at Rangiora on February 16:—J. Campbell, R. Fergus (Waltham) A. Pickering (Sumner), R.
