STRIKE THREATS IN HUNGARY
SERIOUS FOOD SHORTAGE (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 7. A message from Budapest says that strike movements, which are spreading throughout Hungary because of the serious food situation, are now affecting Hungary’s three largest machine shops and the biggest heavy industrial plant, the-Manfred Weisz works. Workers demonstrated against Communist leaders, who appealed to them to return to work.
