DISTRICT PUBLIC TRUSTEE

RETIREMENT OF MR A. R. JORDAN Mr A. R. Jordan, retiring District Public Trustee, Christchurch, was recently bidden farewell by the staff of the Public Trust Office. The Public Trustee (Mr W. G. Baird), who had come specially from Wellington for the occasion, joined other speakers in paying high tribute to Mr Jordan, who is retiring on superannuation after more than 42 years' service with the department.

All of the speakers congratulated Mr Jordan on his splendid record of service and on his valuable contribution in the building up of the Public Trust Office. Messages containing good wishes from friends and colleagues throughout New Zealand were read by the Assistant-District Public Trustee. Mr W. Kane. Mr Baird announced that Mr Jordan's successor would be Mr T. J. Carson, who has, for a number of years been on the staff of the head office in Wellington. A presentation of a cheque was made to Mr Jordan, representing contributions by the staff.
