STORAGE BATTERY EMPLOYEES
NEW AWARD MADE Storage battery employees .who were previously covered by the New Zealand Metal Workers Award are provided for In a separate award, the Wellington and Canterbury Storge Battery Manufacturing Employees' Award, according to a ruling of the Arbitration Court. Minimum wages payable to workers substantially employed in the formation room shall- be 2s 9d for the first three months and 2s IOJd thereafter. In addition to the Court's two bonuses. Any worker placed in charge of a department shall be paid 2s a day extra. In making the award, which embodies the - terms of settlement arrived at by the assessors in Conciliation Council, the Court has had regard to the provisions of* the Economic Stabilisation Emergency Regulations. 1942.
