FOOD FOR STARVING EUROPE
Sir,—Thanks are due to Miss Jellett lor her constructive correspondence at all times. I disagree with her on one point, for I think that this "strong minority" has a tail which wags persistently, and it will, 1 believe, succeed in rousing the dormant head to action. There are already signs of awakening. I would ask the LimvoodAvonside Patriotic Association to consider seriously going further with their remit. The real need, which should be recognised by all men's and women's organisations, is that less food should be made available to all of us, so that more may be sent overseas. Let all organisations urge the Government to enforce a stricter rationing of all food. In a few months it may be too late. Surely it is unthinkable Zealand will continue to enjoy a "luxury ration" while millions die from undernourishment.—Yours, etc., LEO. November 28, 1945.
