SALE OF RESERVES IN CHRISTCHURCH
PROPOSALS OUTLINED TO HOUSE
(From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON. Nov ; -'ZB; ' Proposals for the revocation of recreation reserves in Christchurch, arid the use of the proceeds for other reserves, were outlined by the Minister of Lands (the Hon. C. F. Skinner) in papers laid on the table of the House of Representatives to-day. No objections have been received to the proposals. One transaction concerns two small reserves provided by the Housing Department in Ajax and Achilles streets. The proposal is that these should be resumed by the department' and that their value. £545, should be set oft against the £1250 which it has been agreed the City Council should pay for the Flesher estate reserve and house. In the case of reserves in Paparoa and Radley streets, it is proposed that the proceeds of the sales should be applied to buying more suitable areas in the same localities.
The third proposal is that half an acre in Dacre street be sold, and the proceeds used to meet some of the cost of Woodham Park. A fourth proposal authorises the council to dispose of subdivisional reserves in Searell's road, Cumnor terrace, Ensor's road, Kensington avenue, and Tilford street.
