INDUSTRIES AND TOURIST

HEADS APPOINTED

(From Our Parliamentary Reporter.; WELLINGTON, November 28 Mr P. B. Marshall, chief administrative officer of the Ministry of Supply, has been appointed Secretary of Industries and Commerce following the. separation of this department, which formerly included tourist and publicity, into two departments. Mr L. J. Schmitt. who has been secretary and general manager of the department, will be head of the Tourist and Publicity Department with the office of general manager. At the same time as the branches of the-department are being separated into distinct departments, arrangements are being made for the winding up of the Ministry of Supply. Mr Marshall was an inspector in the office of the Public Service ' Commissioner until the war, when he was seconded to the Ministry of Supply. He spent some time in the United States on supply missions, but has been back in New Zealand for more than a year.
