CHILDREN'S BOOK WEEK

+ As a concluding feature of Children’s Book Week in Christchurch, a function was held in the Teachers’ Training College last evening. An address was given by Mr G. T. Alley, director of the National Library Service. Miss M. Parsons, director of the United States Information Library, Wellington, who was also to have spoken, was prevented from attending by illness. A comprehensive display of children's books was presented by the Teachers’ Training College Library, the _ Christchurch Public Library, the National Library Service, and various teachers and other persons interested. Modern reading instruction methods were also shown.
