OPOSSUM SKINS
" The Press " Special Sendee DUNEDIN. September 20. The extended season for the trapping of opossums closed last Saturday. The first sale of skins will be held In Dunedin on Tuesday, and indications are that the offering from the Otago district alone will be approximately 30,000 skins. BIGGER VEGETABLE CROPS. Grow bigger, better vegetables by steri - lising your soil with Jeyes’ Fluid, Seeds and seedlings grown In sterilised soil uevelop more quickly and are in better condition to withstand insect attack. A simple, effective method of sterilising the soil is to water the whole garden or plot with a solution of Jeyes’ Fluid—one tablespoon to each gallon of water—using approximately one gallon to a square yard. Jeyes Fluid applied In this fashion will not destroy essential bacteria in the soli. Afler sterilisation with Jeyes’ Fluid ground should be dug and left a fortnight.
