KING LEOPOLD

ABDICATION QUESTION “ PIGEONHOLED ” (Rec. 7 p.m.) BRUSSELS, July 30. The Belgian Prime Minister (Mr van Acker) has pigeonholed the question of King Leopold’s abdication. He is content to wait for the King’s consent to abdication, which he is confident must come from Salzburg, while he in the meantime turns to problems of economic recovery. Mass Grave Found.— The Lublin radio has announced that the RussianPolish commission has discovered a mass grave containing the bodies of 80,000 war prisoners, mostly Russians, in the Falkenburg district of Silesia. Most of the prisoners were the victims of starvation. Others had been killed by members of the Hitler Youth Movement.—London, July 29.
