POSITION WITH UNRRA

MR J. F. D. JEUNE’S APPOINTMENT (P.A.) TIMARU, July 30. Mr J. F. D. Jeune, engineer-clerk to the Mackenzie County Council, has been offered and has accepted a position with UNRRA as assistant director of the displaced persons assembly centre in Europe. He will leave for Sydney and London on Thursday. , Mr Jeune served in the Great War, and was awarded the Military Medal. On his return to New Zealand he studied civil engineering at Canterbury University College, gaining his diploma. He then joined' the Works Department as engineer and served at Lake Coleridge and in the hesd office at Wellington. Later he became town clerk and engineer to the Temuka Borough Council and was appointed engineer clerk of the Mackenzie County in 1929.
