. I ♦- AVON AMATEUR CLUB The Avon Amateur Cycling Club, alter a two weeks’ spell from racing because of me bad state of the roads, held a 32 miles road race at Hare wood on Saturday. A field of 22 faced the starter, the scratcii men being set to give away eight minutes The road in places was sticky and R Elliott, a junior rider, in securing fastest time, put up a fine performance. The winner, R Reddock. is a voung rider and is having his first season as a roadracer Results :—R Reddock 1- L Green 2„D. Marks 3 K. Dunn 4, R. Elliott 5, D. were gained by B, Ell>°tt. Ihr 23min 3sec, and D. Kerr, Ihr 23mm SS6C ’ CHBISICHUBCH CASH CLUB The Christchurch Cash Cycling Club held a race over 30 miles, from Halswell to Motukarara and back.
