Joint Proclamation By Powers
BRITAIN, U.S., CHINA (Jf.Z, Pnm Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, July 26. Britain, the United States, and China have issued a joint proclamation to Japan, calling upon the Government to cease resistance or see its homeland utterly destroyed. The proclamation, says an official announcement from Potsdam, has been jointly approved by Mr Churchill, President Truman, and Marshal Chiang: Kai-shek. It urges the Japanese to surrender unconditionally to the Allies, and indicates the terms under which such a surrender would become effective.
