About 40 head were offered, the quality being from fair to good. There was a good demand from Waimate and Timaru butchers, and prices improved by fully £1 a head on latest rates. There were no store or dairy cattle worthy of mention. Values were:— Fat Steers.—Best, £ls to £lB 12s 6d; others, £l2 to £l4 17s Gd, Fat Heifers.—Extra good, £ls to £l6 2s 6d; good, £l3 12.- 6d to £l4 17s Cd: others. £9 to £l3 7s Fd.
