Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows; Situation: a deep depression over Southland is rpoving south-eastwards and there is a depression approaching Cook Strait from the north-west. Forecast to 5 p.m.: moderate variable winds, northerlies predominating. Weather dull, with drizzle and rain in the ranges and some isolated falls elsewhere. Temperatures cool. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Fresh northerly winds. Weather unsettled, with further showers. Temperatures cool. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost of 8.1 degrees the weather In Christchurch yesterday was cool, and, for the most part, overcast.
