CANARIES AND CAGE BIRDS
ANNUAL SHOW HELD There was a record number of entries at the annual show of the Christchurch Canary and Cage Bird Club, which opened yesterday at the Foresters Hell. There were entries from all parts of New Zealand. Each class was bigger than last year, and in all there were 200 more entries this year. The show is expected to be one of the biggest for the season In New Zealand. Competition was keen In almost all sections, and there were outstanding exhibits in the Norwich canary, foreign bird, and budgerigar sections. The standard of exhibits in the green budgerigar secUon was particularly high. The show wIU be continued to-day and to-morrow. Results were as follows: Budgerigars (judge. Mr A. B. Cutler).— J. W.
