NEW POLISH TALKS
Leaders Invited To Moscow ANNOUNCEMENT BY ALLIES (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, June 12. The Foreign Office has announced that Britain, America, and Russia' have authorised Mr Molotov, Sir Archibald Clark Kerr, and Mr Averell Harriman—who form the Moscow committee on Poland, set up after the Crimea conference—to consult 'with members of the Provisional Polish Government and other Polish democratic leaders at home and abroad on the reorganisation of the Provisional Polish Government on a broad democratic basis, and to bring about the formation of a Provisional Polish Government of National Unity. They have accordingly invited for consultation in Moscow On June 15 (1) representatives of the Provisional Polish Government in Warsaw, Mr Beirut (Prime Minister), Mr Morawski, Mr Kowalsko, and Mr Gomulka; (2) Polish democratic leaders from Poland, namely, Mr Witos (leader of the People's Party), Mr Zulawski, Mr Zutrzebre, Mr Krzyznnowski, and Mr Kolokzeiski; (3) Polish democratic leaders from abroad, namely, Mr Mikolajczyk (leader of the Peasant Party and former Prime Minister of the London Polish Government), Mr Stanczvk, and Mr Zakowski. Similar announcements are being made in Moscow and Washington. “Some British sources in Moscow urge caution against over-optimism about the coming consultations on reorganisation of the Polish Provisional Government,” says the Associated Press correspondent in Moscow. “But most diplomatic observers have predicted success. No one thinks a settlement impossible. Well-informed sources continue to report agreement between Britain, America, and Russia on the main problem—that the Provisional Government should form thfc nucleus of the new Government. It is believed in Moscow that Mr Mikolajczyk is certain to be a member of the reorganised Government.”
