Anxious.—A property .qualification for voters existed until 1896 when it was abolished by the Amendment Act or that year, with a saving clause m favour of then-existing registrations In respect of such qualification. Anxious to Know (Ashburton).-Mr Nash is reported in Hansard In October, 1944. to have said that the Prime Minister •gave up £BSO of his salary. (Thls was under the arrangement of pooling members' salaries adopted by the Labour Government, but dispensed With since the general rise in the payment of members of Parliament.) Mr Nash did mot say that tee Prime ■ Minister received only £BOO a year. He did say teat ‘‘the Prime Mteister’s amount on the civil list was £1800." At that time £BSO of that amount went into the pool.
