—i—^ — OPENING AT NORTH BEACH

The new youth social hall of toe North Beach Baptist Church was officially opened by the Mayor (Mr E. H. Andrews) at a gathering held during the weekend. Mr Andrews congratulated church members on their progressive move and emphasised the importance of training and catering for the youth of toe district. The Rev. D. W. Moore, minister of the church, welcomed the' Mayor and Mr Thomas, president of the Canterbury Baptist Auxiliary, and the Rev. G. N. Garlick thanked all who had assisted in making it possible to open the hell. The City of Christchurch Girls’ Highland Pipe Band pleyed selections, and other musical items were also given. The various stalls were well patronised.
