£1,223,879 INVESTED IN CANTERBURY
Donations to the 1945 Victory Loan in the Canterbury district reached a total of £1,223,879 yesterday. Reports received hy the local committee indicate that there is keen rivalry between country committees in filling their respective quotas. business firms are urged to display the posters which were recently distributed to them by members of the Canterbury Junior Chamber of Commerce and women’s organisations. The Bailey bridge on display in the Square will remain for a few days-so that everyone will have the opportunity to see the bridge which proved invaluable to the fighting forces. Sporting bodies will provide the entertainment in the Square to-mor-row, the manufacturers on Thursday, and the Royal New Zealand Air Force on Friday.
