JUGOSLAV PARADE IN TRIESTE British and American representatives were absent from the ssi luting base to-day when 1300 of Marshal Broz’s troops paraded through the streets of Trieste, according to agency correspondents. Jugoslav officers took the lute. British and American ji'kials received an invitation to a tend the parade an hour before t began and replied that they were unable to attend at such short notice. Tanks, artillery, n;d mortars participated. Nine :•;»: cket-firing Hurricanes marked ;th Marshal Broz’s red star ■ ; w over the waterfront and :r r ept over British warships at a height of a few hundred feet. Youths carrying banners inscribed “Free Trieste” threw .lowers and cheered the marching troops, but civilians lining Ye street remained quiet and i enthusiastic.
