* — JAPANESE WARSHIP BUNK A iO.OOO-tou Japanese cruiser was Mink by British deatroyera and naval aircraft in the Malacca Strait, between Malaya and Sumatra. The cruiser was first seen by Avenger aircraft from H.M.S. Shark, and they probably scored one hit. The destroyers attacked with torpedoes at night and soon afterwards the cruises was seen sinking. There were some casualties on H.M.S. Saumarez, but none on the other four destroyers. The Saumarez played a prominent part in the destruction of the Schamhorat off Norway in IMS. —London, May 18.
