Results in the competition, which is held under the auspices of the Lyttelton Gladioli Society.. were:—Convent School. 270 points, 1; Lyttelton Main School, 228 pplnts, 2; Lyttelton West School, 224 points, 3. Individual aggregate winners were: Heather Henderson (Wjest) L Ann Sullivan (Convent) 2, Trevor Gibson (West) 3. A competition for premier bloom was won by Donald Boyd (Main) and Ann Sullivan (equal), with Joan Taylor (Main) second. Mr A. Le Comte was Judge. Personal Mr C Rhlrid, of Lyttelton, has received advice that his brother, Private L. Rhind, is safe in England after being a prisoner in Germany since the Battle of Crete.
