OFFICER DISMISSED FROM R.N.Z.A.F.

CHARGE OF LOW FLYING A court-martial held at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station. Wigram. on March 27, has had confirmed its finding that Pilot Officer Selwyn John Bennett should be dismissed from the service for low flying over Geraldine. Pilot Officer Bennett pleaded guilty to charges of flying on February 26 at a height less than 2000 feet over Geraldine and of flying outside the local flying area. The defence was that Flying Officer Bennett had disobeyed orders to see to what extent his home at Geraldine was endangered by the floods in South Canterbury.
