SCHOOL BUILDINGS
•7 ' WORK IN CANTKRBUPY An application from the Maryland School Committee for'the rebuilding of the primary school has been received by the building committee of the Canterbury Education Board, which yesterday approved of the decision that the architect should report on the condition of the present building. -Representations were received from the Opawa School Committee for the provision of temporary additional accommodation and the senior inspector has been asked to report. A letter from the Riccarton School Committee stressing the need for rebuilding the school and additional accommodation was referred to the senior inspector for report. Advice was received that a grant had been approved by the Government for the erection of a type “B” dental clinic at Blaketown School. It was decided to add to the list of urgent works a proposal to erect a house at Dobson School. Pending the approval of a grant for the erection of a permanent classroom, no action was taken to enlarge further the existing school at Tuahiwi.
