PURCHASE OF HOUSES BY SOLDIERS
SCHEME FOR RESERVING PROPERTIES
The reservation of houses offered for sale for 28 days to enable soldiers applying for rehabilitation loans to have the first opportunity for purchase was supported in principle by the pensions and rehabilitation committee of the Christchurch Returned Services* Association. in a report presented to the executive committee last evening.
The executive adopted a recommendation that all house properties suitable for rehabilitation purposes should be registered with the Rehabilitation Department for 28“ days for potential returned servicemen buyers before being placed 0,. the public market Thg committee’s report added that it would be necessary to register all properties, the Rehabilitation Department to notify the vendor or agent within seven days as to the suitability of the property. If the property was not suitable, it could be released for public sale at the end of the seven days. ' 1 '
