From Our, Own' Reporter , TIMARU. April 6. The Romney section of the Timaru ram fair was held at the Show Grounds today. There were consignments from the North Island, and quite a large portion of the entries were from Southland. Local breeders were- well represented. The quality of the yarding generally, compared very favourably with past fairs. Values were down about two guineas, a head on last year, but this drop can be accounted for by a yarding of 9QO compared with 570 last year. At the commencement of the sale the attendance was only moderate, but later it Increased considerably. Opening prices were somewhat disappointing, but later they Improved and a steady range of values was well * maintained throughout. The sale commenced stud rams, and some particularly _good, sheep were offered; Top- price was ySgns. whlQh'Was obtained •by the estate of die lattfc.D; Robinson (Conical Hills, Gore), and Raymond Oakley (Mayfield). _ Prices for stud rams ranged from 18 to'2s guineas. - In the flock, section, the estate of D. Robinson sold, a• single ram. at 25 guineas and two others at 13 and - 16 guineas each. Prices for flock rams were as follows: extra good, 15 to 25 guineas; good, 9 to 13 guineas; medium, 5 to 8 guineas; other sorts, -3 to 4} guineas. ..
