REDUCTION IN EGG RATION
SUPPLIES TO CHRISTCHURCH ■ GROCERS * Supplies of eggs to grocers in Christchurch were reduced this week to the equivalent of half an egg for each butter ration. The Christchurch office of the Internal Marketing Division, *tfhich made this announcement yesterday, stated that the reduction was made because of thd natural decline in the supply of eggs that occurred at this time of the year. The ration is one quarter of the quantities made available to grocers during the maximum-supply period. Supplies available now are equivalent to the usual quantity, available at this time of the’year. For the next four weeks, supplies of eggs, will be at their lowest for the whole of the year.
