MEETING OF SOUTH ISLAND COUNCIL : The following resolutions were carried at a meeting of the council of, the South Island Acclimatisation So- ■ cieties yesterday:— , "That a national acclimatisation societies’ authority be set up, consisting of two representatives from each of 1 the North and South Island "That a national wild life council be set up representative of all interests.- , . „ . *‘That the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon, W. E, Parry) be requested favourably to consider the proppsaLtO' ■ place the scientific control of wild life under the jurisdiction - of ; a national : wild life council;-which could enlist the aid of the Department of Scientific and' Industrial Research; the controlling council of which should be extended . to include the representatives elected ; to the National Wild Life Council. > "That the administration of the policy introduced by the National Wild Life 'Coundl in relation,to the maintenance of existing game species- and ■the' Introduction of, other desirable forms, remain the responsibility of acclimatisation societies,”
