PRICE ORDERS FOR JAM
MAXIMUM RETAIL .CHARGES Price orders defining maximum retail prices of 47 types of jam, including marmalade but not sugarless jams and marmalade for diabetics, have been gazetted and are effective from February 12. . The orders apply to the products of all commercial manufacturers. Retail prices of certain well-known brands vary slightly in some cases, but the schedules clearly indicate the brands and price variation. Examples of prices (21b containers) are as follows: —marmala.de, blackberry, quince jelly, black currant and apple, 2s o£d; raspberry, 2s 7Jd (different brands); plum, apply jelly, Is lOd; apricot, Is lid. In areas away from the main cities and towns where there are additional freight charges, increases in the scheduled maximum prices are permitted as follows:—lib container (id increase), 21b (id), 61b (3d), 101b (sd). With other containers the increase is id per lb of the net contents of the containers.
