Treatment of Defaulters A special general meeting of the Auckland Returned Services’ Association last night passed a resolution supporting the policy of the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association on military defaulters. The president, Mr A. P. Postlewaite, presided. Another motion carried was: “That as some defaulters in detention camps might be genuine conscientious objectors, headquarters of the association discuss with the Government the desirability of rehearing appeals by appellants who might claim that privilege, irrespective of religion ”—(P.A.)
