OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press" Special Service. WELLINGTON, December 19. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows; — Situation; a weak ridge of ,pressure still covers the Dominion. Forecast to 5 p.m.: moderate south-westerly winds predominating. Weather fair to fine and milder. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate and variable winds. Weather fair to fine and milder. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather was fine and for the most .part sunny yesterday, with a moderate South-west wind. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was overcast and rain was falling. There was a moderate south-west wind: The barometer was steady at 29.60 in (1002.4 millibars).
