SCARLET FEVER

SLIGHT INCREASE LAST WEEK There were 31 cases of scarlet fever reported in Canterbury last week, which is a slight increase over the figure notified the previous week. On the West Coast four cases of scarlet fever, were reported. After a period in which there were only one or two cases of septic ■ abortion each week, eight cases were dealt with last week. There was also one case each of malaria,, tuberculosis, and erysipelas. Four deaths occurred from tuberculosis.
