HIRED PRAMS
Sir,—What a ridiculous idea to hire prams. Hasn’t scarlet fever spread enough this year? The average mother takes a pride In her pram and baby, but prams would be sticky and soiled by some babies. Supposing a mother lives half a mile from a tram terminus, can she carry parcels and baby, too? I used to' do this, but would not advise others to do so. Besides, the charges are exorbitant, as could pay for and own one’s own pram in a short time, even on terms. —Yours, etc., A GRAMMA. December 18, 1944.
