TUESDAY (Before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M.) - REMANDED Patrick Mcßae, a labourer, aged 23, on a charge of stealing a bicycle valued at £ls, the property of Valeria Facer, was remanded to November 2. Ball was refused. Lawrence Desmond Holland, a labourer, aged 20, was remanded to November 2 on a charge of breaking and entering by day the dwelling of Joan Rebecca Gordon with intent to commit theft. Bail* at £2OO with sureties of £2OO, was granted. CITY COUNCIL TRAFFIC CASES In the following cases brought by the City Council traffic department the fines mentioned are exclusive of costs In each case:—Cycling at night without light: Anthony D. Ashby, Styants Darling, Ray Dorrance, Lance Glanville, John McGill, and Patrick Vincent, 10s each. Driving in dangerous manner; Maurice Bell, £1; Arthur Holmes, £4; Arthur J. McEldowney, 10s; Eric Benjamin Hampton, £4. No warrant of fitness; Blackburne, Smith and Company, Ltd., 10s; Paramount Radio, Ltd. (voluntary appearance), 10s without costs; George N. Glausluss, 10s (failing to signal on leaving kerb, 10s); Joseph P. Stack. 10s (no licence. 10s). Failing to keep to pedestrian crossing: John Harper; costs only. Parking in prohibited area: Samuel Hinden, 10s; Mrs Kathleen O’Connell, 10s (no driver’s licence, 10s). No heavy-traffic licence: Herbert Kendall, 10s; Leslie Wendelken, 10s. ' • Exceeding 30 miles an hour limit; George A. Nell, £2 10s; Noel G. Caldwell, £3. Not having licence sticker affixed: Colin L. Richards, costs only. A charge of exceeding the 30 miles an hour limit against Darcy Lister (Mr R. A. Young) was dismissed.
