N.Z. Funds For Relief.—The New Zealand High Commissioner (Mr W. J. Jordan), accompanied by the deputy j regional commissioner for south-east i England (Mr A. Bottomley), visited Canterbury, where he met the mayors j tof Kent towns. Mr Jordan announced that a further £IO,OOO, subscribed by j New Zealand, would be used to allevi-; ate distress in a Kent town which suf- j fered from the enemy trans-Channel j shelling. New Zealand subscriptions previously were made to the Lord Mayor of London’s Fund for bombed out school children from Dover, Folke-. stone, and Deal. The children are now enjoying a fortnight’s holidav as the result of New Zealand’s lates’t contribution.—Lohdon, October 28,
