A letter from the Prime Minister office advised that the matter had ww». placed before the Minister of Finance., The Wanganui City Council wflW asking for full information, and it . decided to forward a copy or « motion. , , „ Amusement was caused by a lei from a Wellington resident, who com mended Cr. W. B. Owen for propos ing the motion, and remarked tn those who voted for the motion show “the difference between the mentauj great anW the mentally small. Other letters referring to the pro posal were received from the Mu l , l of Supply (the Hon. D. G Sullivan), and from the Social Credit Centre,. Christchurch. _ a Me - Cr. Machin moved, and Cr. D. A. M Caskey seconded, that a letter seI V:-,,x, the Prime Minister, a copy of wmw had been circulated, be clarified X stating that the motion had been passeu by five votes to four. _ Cr.
