VICTORY' LOAN ADVERTISING
Sir,—l have subscribed to your paper for a,number of years but not to your politics. At the same time, I agree with the sound reasoning of some of your leading articles and sub-leaders. I particularly desire to commend the sub-leader in last Saturday’s issue dealing with the above question It is important that the loan should be’ fully subscribed, and your sub-leader gave excellent reasons for its successful conclusion, particularly the reference to prevention of inflation. There is some reason for the tardy response from Investors The publicity officials have evidently not studied psychology. The real issue is not confined to,providing the forces with ships, guns, aeroplanes, munitions, etc., as you so aptly put it, “the security of a stable economy”, is }ust as important. If. instead of playing the now monotonous “Back the attack,” prominence were given to the general aspect, better results would follow.—Yours, etc.. A.J.D. September 20. 1944.
