The Mayoress of Christchurch, Miss E. Couzins, has returned from Wellington, where she attended to Y.W.C.A. business last week. Mrs W. H. E. Flint was the speaker at a meeting of the Mothers’ Club of the Young Women’s Christian Association; She described Wickham Court Hotel, where she stayed during a visit to England, and also described several amusing incidents on her return journey to New Zealand by way of the United States. The Riccarton branch of the association of wives and mothers of the forces overseas met at the home of Mrs H. G. Livingstone, 41 Riccarton road. Dr. Enid Cook gave an interesting talk and advice to the wives and mothers to be very patient with returned servicemen. Afternoon tea was served by the committee.
