CANNED FRUIT THIS WEEK

(PA.) WELLINGTON, September 16. A distribution of canned fruit is to be made throughout the Dominion, and deliveries to retailers will begin on or about Monday next, according to the Food Controller (Mr J. E. Thomas), ■who said to-day that allocations were being made on the basis of one tin of canned fruit for every two persons registered for sugar supplies. Wholesalers would receive their allocations slightly in excess of the total quantity required by retailers, and these supplies would be set aside for hospitals, boarding schools and institutions obtaining sugar supplies on permits.
