£286,051 RAISED QUARTER QUOTA RAISED IN CANTERBURY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, September 17. The amount subscribed to the Victory Loan on Saturday was £286,051, making the a total up to Saturday £12,620,357. Percentages of quotas raised to dale are:—Southland, 55; Auckland, 50; Otago, 39; Taranaki, 38; Marlborough, 38; Gisborne-East Coast, 36; North Otago, 32; Wanganui, 31; Manawatu, 31; Hawke’s Bay, 29; Nelson, 27; Wellington, 27; Northland, 27; WaikatoKing Country, 26; Wairarapa. 25; South Canterbury, 24; Canterbury, 24; Buller, 24; Westland, 23; Thames-Bay of Plenty, 21. NEARING FIRST £1,000,000 CHRISTCHURCH DISTRICT EFFORT The half-holiday on Saturday caused small investments in the Victory Loan, only £20.195 being subscribed. This left the district total £3470 short of the first £1,000.000 of the quota of £4,146,000. Subscriptions last week included;— W." H.
