AIR FORCE WEEK
WARHAWK TO BE ON DISPLAY Air Force week in the Victory Loan campaign ‘will open on Monday with a concert from the stand in Cathedral square given by the Air Force Pipe Band and artists from the Air Force. The Warhawk named after Gloria Lyons will be on display, and at 12.30 p.m. Gloria herself will be brought by ambulance from the Christchurch Hospital to see the aeroplane. Members of the Christchurch Victory Loan Committee and Air Force personnel will attend. A formation of fighter aircraft will give a demonstration over the city. Some country districts are now getting into their stride and good returns are being received, but there are only two weeks and three days left, and an all-out effort will have to be made if the objective is to be reached. All chairmen of committees will link up with Wellington at 7 p.m. on Saturday to report progress. Yesterday’s Returns The amount invested yesterday was £59 027.
