FRIDAY (Before Mr A. A. McLachlan, S.M.) REMANDED Allan Aubrey Kennington pleaded guilty to a charge of converting to his own use a motor-car valued £2OO, the property of Patrick Clement Crooke. Detective-Sergeant A. A. Herron, In asking for a remand until Monday, said there were other charges of a similar nature pending. UNLIGHTED CYCLES For riding unllghted cycles at night. Nancy Hahn was fined 10s and Percival Vincent Smith 20s. CIVIL CASES THURSDAY (Before Mr A .A. McLachlan, S.M.) Judgment by default was given for plaintiff in the following claims:—Automobile Association of Canterbury v. Henare Keefe, £3 IBs: A. J. Jamieson, Ltd., v. J. Newton, £1 8s 9d; Freeman. Holmes v. A. J. Newsome, £24 ss. CHILDREN’S COURT (Before Mr A. A. McLachlan, S.M.) A boy of 13 years arid six months was .-barged with breaking, entering, and committing theft. >The police report stated that the boy was addicted to petty thieving. He was committed to the care of the Superintendent of Child Welfare.
