' —♦ FANCY DRESS PARTY A children’s fancy dress p'arty, in aid cf the funds of the -Lyttelton Ladies’ Guild of the British - Sailors’ Society, was held in the Seamen’s Institute on Saturday afternoon, a -large number of children attending. The costumes were judged by Mrs J. T. Hawkins and Miss N. McKechnie and prizes were awarded-as follows:—best fancy dress: Ngaire and June Neil (Bride and Groom); John Dingle (Swagger): most original, Beryl Martin (Doll in Box); Dorothy Wilson (Soap Powder), Jack Conradie (Broken Jack-in-the-box). Under five years: Valerie Hannah (Plunket Nurse), Richard Cpnnolly (Robin Hood). Under seven: Ngaire Conradie (Squaw), Edward Veale (Why Did I Kiss that Girl?). Under nine: June Neil (Bridegroom),- Bryce Stanley (Man ofi the Moment). Over nine: Lorna Tejfer (Chinese). Gavin Sneddon (Mr Chips),
