CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING
WELLINGTON BEATS CANTERBURY The interprovincial race between Can- | terbury and Wellington cross-country i teams was decided on Saturday. The Wellington team, which was successful, Included A. R. Geddes, the former Otago and Empire Games representative, F. Silver, a former national champion, and T. Bartlett and M. Busby, who previously ran for Canterbury clubs. Wellington won the senior championship with 15 points. Results;— Senior Grade Teams’ Race.—Wellington (Geddes, Bartlett, Busby, Barclay, Flanagan, Silver), 15 points; Canterbury (Clarke, Kennedy, Mair, Fox, Lake, Whltta), 24 points.
CHRISTCHURCH CLUB A closing day handicap race starting from the United Tennis Club's pavilion in Hagley Park was held by members of the Christchurch Harrier Club on Saturday. Results:— ■ „ „ L. D. Holder 1. V. Mallard 2. G. Voller 3. At the conclusion of the race the act-ing-president of the club (Dr. R. O. Page) presented the trophies won during tpe season.
