Dr. R. Gardner’s object in The Industrial Development of New Zealand (Progressive Publishing Society. 48 pp.) is to give “some sort of picture of the basis that exists in New Zealand for expansion of the secondary or manufacturing industries.” He is well qualified by academic training and practical experience to do so.
MUSIC „ In The Dominion Song Book No. 10 (Whitcombe and Tombs, Ltd.) Dr. T. Vernon Griffiths has arranged six well-known songs with three treble parts above the melody in the bass, to be sung by men or boys with “broken’ voices. The book is intended specially for choirs in post-primary schools, teaching colleges, and the armed forces.
