COMPANY NEWS Pukemiro Collieries, Ltd.—The accounts of the Pukemiro Collieries. Ltd., for the year ended August 31. 1943, show a profit of £3789, compared with £2lOl in the previous year, and £4425 in 1941. With the balance brought forward (£337), plus an item of profit earned but not ascertained in previous years (less taxation), amounting to £2199, there is a credit in the appropriation account of £6323. From this has been taken £272 by the Income Tax Department and dividends at the rate of 33 per cent. (£3750), leaving £2303 to be carried forward.—(P,A.) MINING Snowy River Dredge.—The return last week was 191oz from 43.000 yards in 250 hours. Blackball Creek Dredge.—Last week the return was 460z for 220 hours’ dredging.
