A decision to hold a queen carnival, terminating in November, was made at a recent meeting of the building finance,committee of the Papanui Returned Services’ Association. Conveners were appointed to set up committees for each of the four queens—north, south, cast, and west. It was decided 'Hat the respective committees should nominate their queens at a meeting to be held on June 18. It was reported that funds for the budding of the new club rooms now totalled £IOSO this amount being over and above the cost of the section for the rooms at the corner of Lancdon s road and the North road, Papanui.
